Guitar Center - Integrating Social and Collaborative Learning to Create a Business that Rocks
Event Recorded on:
Thursday, 12 February 2015, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (GMT -04:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

When the company's No. 1 acoustic guitar expert in Des Moines, Iowa, helps a customer in Los Angeles select the right guitar, that's a good sale – but when every other sales associate watches it, that's a great learning event for the company.

In 2013, Guitar Center broadened its learning strategy and devoted some resources to social and collaborative learning, believing that would better support their business. After a year, the results are encouraging: Sales metrics are improving, employee retention is rising, and time spent on their learning platform is greater than ever before. However, for Chris Salles, Director of eLearning, and team, that was just the opening act; in year two they plan to get their 12,000 learners really rocking with informal learning:

  • Take product training to the next level with blogs and discussions
  • Help sales people in the moment of need with mobile access to communities, job aids and other materials
  • Connect employees to experts, regardless of location
  • Collaborate between stores and record the key points

How can social and collaborative tools help your learners too? Join us for this webinar to learn how Chris Salles and his team are getting their learners rocking at Guitar Center.
